On Tour with Modulus Quartet

This month and next I’m on the road with Modulus Quartet‘s 12 Seconds of Light tour, performing live visuals for composer Eliot Lloyd Short‘s suite The Golden Road each night.

The tour started in Honister Slate Mine in the Lake District and visits unusual venues such as two natural caves in Cornwall and the Peak District, Thekla – a barge in Bristol, Electric Cinema in Birmingham and the cavernous tunnel shaft under the Thames at the Brunel Museum in London (tickets).

Below you can see some of my work from 03:24 in a clip from regional news show BBC Spotlight, who aired a feature on the quartet’s concert at Carnglaze Cavern, Cornwall.

Stop Gap: Exhibition of Work with Joan Key

Following the exhibition of our generative video work Piano Words at Whitstable Biennale last year, my new collaboration with Joan Key Secret was part of her joint exhibition with several artists at Herbert Read Gallery in Canterbury, Stop Gap. The exhibition also featured Moyra Derby, Conor Kelly, Nicky Hamlyn and Jost Münster.

Here is some video documentation of the private view.

Drive Thru poster
SECRET, an experimental short film I made with Joan Key is being screened at Drive Thru, an exhibition for pedestrians and cars at Q Park, a car park on Cavendish Square in London.

The film is screening on Saturday 8 October and is a documentation of a place through time-based photomontage. Photography & direction by Joan Key, edited by me.

{} Interval Exhibition

Category : Events

A two-screen video installation I created with the painter Joan Key called Interval was featured in an exhibition with the similar title, {} Interval. The exhibition took place in Whitstable train station as part of Whitstable Biennale on 11 June this year, and explored:

The momentary encounter caught within or cut by the limit of rectangular support, viewfinder, picture space or film reel. What happens when the cuts of image and spacing become the focus of attention, when compositional decisions expand into the space of installation?

The artists exhibiting were Moyra Derby, Nicky Hamlyn, Conor Kelly, Joan Key and Jost Münster. I edited a short documentary video of the event.
